Come my Love
Come My Love With Me To The Misty Mountains 1973
E 4/4
To the mountains we set off last Sunday Morning –
Halfway there my affliction came without warning;
But at last we got there and my head was as clear –
As the crisp clean air in the distant misty mountains.
Chorus:
Oh how I love the trickling streams and the misty mountains,
And the lochs and the valleys and the pine trees growing around them -
Come, my love, with me to the crystal fountain –
Come my love, with me to the misty mountains.
Cyril and me - we talked quite free about the months past – And we knew – we two – that this week would go fast; And the wind and the rain came again and again – And tried to stop us seeing the wonders of this land. もっと沢山の歌詞は ※ Mojim.com
The next day we met some girls who became good friends there – They were from the City where air is not so clear there; And the cuckoo chimed - as we all climbed Ben Lomond – And we laughed as the bees made the girls all flee in the mountains.
And poor Ann Joan found it real hard going – she had a sore back – Fiona and Sue said she did it carrying up her rucksack. Sue and Ann Joan climbed in 'sannies' and Fiona had her clogs – And when we got down we were brown, but tired as hungry wild dogs.
Then we all went to the island out from our tents there – And we walked all around but the bracken on the ground there – Scratched the girls – they wore skirts – their legs were bare – I bet the bumble bees were really pleased on that island!
We tried five in the boat – but it would hardly float from that island; So we first brought one then the other two from that island. That night we had a fire, roasting totties and singing folk songs – We had to kill the fire when the warden told us we were doing wrong.
When the girls had to go – it made us really low – on those mountains – We took them to the city – it was not so pretty as the mountains. Saw some art, did some shopping, then we went back to their place – Has supper, sang songs and talked about the mountains.
